Families
We believe that your family has a part in God's story.
Jesus modeled the kind of family we all long for—one built on love, belonging and infused with purpose. We believe that his Spirit is actively restoring and renewing families to live their part in God’s unfolding story.
Our hope is to partner with families in embracing and sharing God’s unconditional love. So whether you are married, single, a parent, a blended family, an empty nester or still figuring things out, you belong here. Everyone is invited into Jesus’ intergenerational family.
If you’re new to Oaks Church, please take a moment to fill out the New Family Form below. Want to stay in the know about the life of the church? Sign up for our Families Newsletter!

Acorns exists to partner with families in raising kids who know the unending love and grace of God. We aim to plant seeds of the Gospel, practice unconditional grace, and establish our church as a safe space to encounter Jesus at any stage of life.
Each Sunday, our kids check in at PS 132 for their gathering. A Kids Team Member will be waiting to greet you and your family at our check in table in the gymnasium. You will check in your child and receive a security number for you to hold onto when you return at check out. Parents, you will walk back to PS 132 to check out your children at the end of the main gathering.
Check In begins at 10AM and closes at 10:45AM at PS 132 | Check Out is at noon at PS 132
Youth
Our youth ministry relaunched in the fall of 2025. Our hope is to see young people come to experience God and discover their identity, belonging, and purpose in him. Youth meets Sunday nights at Brooklyn Community Church and the second and third Wednesdays in our space at 231 Ainslie.
Families
Single Moms of Brooklyn: Single Moms of Brooklyn (SMOB) was dreamed up, developed, and funded from within our congregation. The mission of SMOB is to empower and inspire single mothers in the community by providing emotional support and resources. Moms, children, and volunteers enjoy a meal together and their own programming on Wednesday nights during the school year.
The Good Way For Families Course: The Good Way for Families invites families to live intentionally in response to Jesus. Over the course of 5 sessions (4-in person sessions and 1 retreat day), families will explore the eight practices which order our lives around the person and work of Jesus. Together parents and children will work together to craft a rule of life for the whole family and create a set of shared family rhythms as well as practices that encourage children to order their own lives around the person of Jesus.
The Good Way for Families Course runs each spring. Email Raul for more information.
Volunteers
Our volunteer teams are comprised of an incredible group that teaches and cares for our youngest members. All members fill out an application for the specific area they wish to serve in, are background checked, and meet with our Kids, Youth and Family Pastor and go through a training in order to be fully equipped to serve the hearts of our children. If you are interested in serving our kids and families in this way, we would love to have you! Please chose which team you would like to serve, fill out the short form, and the Pastor will get back to you shortly.
